DEF is a 32.5% solution of high-purity urea in de-mineralized water that is used with the Selective Catalytic Reduction system (SCR) to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from the exhaust systems of diesel vehicles into nitrogen, water, and carbon dioxide (CO2).  DEF is a clear non-hazardous liquid that is neither a fuel, nor a fuel additive, and needs to be dispensed into a DEF storage tank that is on your diesel-powered vehicle or power generator system.
